Licenses and access
A Lifebase license provides the product access described in your order. It does not include an AI provider subscription or API credits. Refer to the terms shown with your purchase and the English or Korean legal documents included in your installed vault for the applicable agreement.
Register a license on the website
Section titled “Register a license on the website”- Open your account and choose Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub.
- Under Register a license, enter the current key you received and choose Register license. Signing in with the same email used for delivery does not register it automatically.
- Select the license to see its product access, dates, status, and registered devices. You can add several licenses to the same account.
To see your full key, click Click to show in the key field and verify a connected account if requested. A replaced key cannot register a license; use the current key. An expired license can still be registered, but its access is not renewed.
Copy a revealed key with the icon on the right. Replace license key invalidates the old key and signs out all registered devices after confirmation. Reveal the new key here and sign in again on each device; your license and notes remain.
If you suspect unauthorized use, Pause license blocks activation, downloads, and updates. Resume license lifts a pause you requested without extending the license period. Keys, device registrations, and local notes are preserved. Replace the key as well if it may have leaked. A suspension imposed by support must be resolved through support.
Unlink license removes the account connection while keeping the license, key, and devices. Deleting the website account also leaves those intact. To move a license to a different Lifebase account, contact support.
To stop using a registered device, select the license and choose Deactivate beside that device. Deactivate all devices ends all active registrations for the selected license. Verify a connected account if requested, then confirm. This frees the device slots and ends their CLI sessions; your local notes, license key, and website account connection remain. Sign in with your account or a usable license key to use a device again.
Need a license first? Compare One, Plus, and Lifetime and contact support to arrange a purchase. A website account is optional for installing and using Lifebase with a license key.
Connected login methods
Section titled “Connected login methods”In your account settings, you can connect one Google account and one GitHub account. Verify an existing login method before connecting or disconnecting one; at least one must remain connected. Disconnecting a method also signs out your other website sessions. Your licenses and CLI sessions stay unchanged.
Connect the second method from your existing Lifebase account before using it to sign in. Matching email addresses do not merge accounts. If that login method is already connected to another Lifebase account, contact support.
Activate in the CLI
Section titled “Activate in the CLI”Choose Sign in → Lifebase account in lifebase, or run lifebase login, then select an owned license. Confirm your device code in the browser before allowing the connection. License key and the command below retain direct key activation.
lifebase activateEnter the license key in the hidden terminal prompt. Do not put it into an agent conversation, command argument, screenshot, or support log. The CLI stores a revocable session in your operating system credential store rather than storing the license key.
Use lifebase status to check the session and lifebase releases to inspect available releases. Access depends on the license, content language, CLI compatibility, and release support status. Update and support coverage come from your order; do not assume every future release is included.
Devices and sign-out
Section titled “Devices and sign-out”The personal license permits the licensed individual to use Lifebase on personally controlled devices. Active download or login device slots are a separate service limit; inspect your license status rather than treating a slot limit as permission to share the product with another person.
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
lifebase logout |
Clears authentication and deactivates the device slot; keeps the connected path and vault files |
| Disconnect this vault in the wizard | Forgets the local path; keeps authentication and files |
lifebase device deactivate --device-id current |
Clears authentication and the connected path; keeps files and deactivates the slot |
To change licenses, choose Change license in the wizard and select an account or license key. The current session stays saved until the replacement succeeds. If normal logout cannot reach the server, retry when connected. lifebase logout --local removes only local authentication and does not free the server device slot.
Your notes and the product
Section titled “Your notes and the product”You retain ownership of your notes, journals, attachments, and other user content. The personal license allows personal modifications and use with an AI agent for your own record management.
The bundled Lifebase templates, skills, documentation, and other original product materials are proprietary. Publishing your own notes does not grant permission to publish the bundled product or substantial proprietary material embedded in them. Third-party components retain their own licenses. Team, organization, and third-party delivery uses need the appropriate agreement.
Get help
Section titled “Get help”Contact support@lifebaseai.com for license or access problems. Include the purchase reference if available, the relevant error, and your CLI version. Do not include your full license key, session credentials, or vault contents.
