Your first session

After installation, open Lifebase in Obsidian and open the same vault in your configured AI agent. Start with a clear request:

Read this vault's AGENTS.md and start Lifebase onboarding. Help me set it up for today.

The agent checks your device, timezone, vault location, bundled plugins, note creation, Task features, attachments, and shortcuts. It checks that each setting works and asks about choices it cannot make for you, such as what to call you and how you prefer to work.

The first session should leave you able to open and navigate the vault, use its core note and Task features, and review a first daily plan. The required maintenance automation must also be registered and tested before quick start is complete.

Some Obsidian permissions are specific to the device. Copying or synchronizing the vault does not automatically enable those permissions. If the agent needs you to approve an Obsidian setting or sign in to a service, complete that specific step and let it verify the result.

Share your fixed commitments and anything that limits the plan:

I have an appointment from 14:00 to 15:00 and need 30 minutes to travel each way. Help me plan today around that. Treat this as today's plan, not a recurring routine.

The agent should present a complete editable plan, distinguish commitments from assumptions, and preserve your own diary writing. Correct the proposed timing before treating it as settled.

Ask for the onboarding results, including the maintenance job’s timezone, next run, and test result. Its default schedule is daily at 04:00 in the detected timezone. If the current agent environment cannot register recurring work, that requirement remains incomplete; a saved prompt is not a running job.

The agent then offers personalization and optional synchronization, backup, Git, or import setup. Select only what you want now. You can finish quick start and return to the optional settings later.

Resume Lifebase onboarding from the saved checklist. Keep completed setup and continue only the unfinished required items.

You can also ask to return to a specific optional setting later. For everyday use after setup, start with Daily planning or Tasks.
